Visibility is as Important as Ability

I worked in the Human Resources of a Bank for a number of years and I discovered something really interesting. 

I observed that there was a clear distinction between performance and PERCEIVED performance. I also observed the PROMOTION was not just a function of the former but the latter. .

You are required to work but it is also your job to create the right perception of your work by being visible.

Someone might ask, is this not EYE SERVICE. Well eye service requires an adjustment of your behavior when decision makers are around. Visibility requires you being the best at all times and projecting your work whilst you at it.

No one lights a candle and puts it under a bushel. Shine!
